The official fight song (the one the band plays all the time) is “Hark the Sound”.
Traditions: Drinking from the Old Well on the first day of each semester will help you get a 4.0 GPA. UNC fans storm Franklin St. after a big win, and more than 70,000 people come to Franklin St. on Halloween.
Geographical Features: Davie Poplar is a 375 year old tree at UNC that has survived two lightning strikes. The intersection of Franklin and Columbia Street is both the exact center of Chapel Hill and its highest elevation.
Architectural Features: The Old Well: originally the University’s sole water source, it was built to its current state in the early 20th century and is a symbol of UNC. The Bell Tower is UNC’s most famous building.
Anything else we should know? Chapel Hill is next to Carrboro, which is the State’s most eclectic town. Most notable is Weaver Street market, a Co-Op shopping market, and the Farmers Market, one of Saveur’s 10 best in the U.S.
Mike has made his love for the Tarheels even more public by contributing a feature to Sports Gone South

Quite a few people have come to this profile over the past couple of days looking for information on the student who wore the Rameses costume and was killed in an auto accident during the NCAA tournament. This is where you will find more information:
